Your data stays yours
When you upload a document to Abacus Docs, ownership does not change hands. You retain full intellectual property rights over everything you upload and every output the platform generates for you. Abacus Docs holds only a limited processing license — the narrow technical permission needed to store, process, and return your documents as part of delivering the service you have signed up for. This means:- No AI training. Your documents are never used as training data for machine learning models, large language models, or any other AI system.
- Full IP ownership. All rights in your uploaded content and AI-generated outputs remain with you.
- Limited processing only. We process your data strictly to provide, maintain, and support the Abacus Docs service — nothing beyond that.

If you close your account, your data is deleted within 30 days of termination. Once that window has passed, recovery is not possible, so export anything you need beforehand.
